I'm looking for 250's in cast, mostly to make it more affordable......and more convenient than jacketed, once I find one I like I can buy a larger qty of them.
I see the H-4831 has a much higher load density than the H-4895 with similar velocities.
Something I am going to look into. I want to find out if pressures are similar, if so, I have always gone with the "fuller" case. Even though some say that has nothing to do with accuracy.
If you pull up Hodgdon's data for the .348, and populate most of the popular powders, you will notice that H4831 uses the most grains of powder, and is even compressed at max with just the 200grn JSP... while producing less velocity than any other powder, albeit at less pressure. Hot on it's heels is H4350, which while not compressed, is still a large charge... and produces the most velocity, even over Varget.
I still think H4895 is a better choice, particularly in the 20" barrel.
