Hello, I'm going to make up some loads using Power Pistol powder & some Hornady XTP 115 gr. HP's, but the only data I have found is for FMJ bullets. That data shows 6.7 grs. max. with a velocity of 1280 fps, but that doesn't help a whole lot with OAL for the bullets I'm going to use. I would like to know if anyone has used these componets for loading 9mm and what OAL & Power Pistol powder charge worked the best for top loads that come close to the velocity of Cor-Bon's loaded ammunition, "if possable". Also, if it makes any difference I'm using Remington small pistol primers with Winchester once fired cases. Thanks for the help, LM.

Speer # 13 gives 6.2 to 6.7 Grs Power Pistol with 115 Gr jacketed bullets. Gold Dot, FMJ, and JHP styles. Tested at 1.125, 1.135, & 1.125

They gave 1210 FPS at 6.7 Grs.

That should be just fine with those XTP's.

The Hornady 6th Edition reloading manual shows a COL of 1.075" with your 115gr HP/XTP bullet. For Power Pistol, their start load is 4.8gr, with 6.7gr as the MAXIMUM. In a 4" barrel (S&W Model 39) their maximum load produced around 1250 fps.

Aren't reloading manuals great?!

chris in va, I must have guessed it about right as I was thinking 6.5 with my OAL at 1.09 +/- .002. Thanks, to you both, LM.
