As some know I've got a project to try and build myself an accurate 5.56 mm Designated Marksman Rifle. I've recently become aware that AR-15 rifles are starting to be sold at several of my local (Central Florida) gunshops for fairly decent prices and I'm thinking if I find one that meets my specs (20" barrel, flattop receiver, and back-up ironsights) at a reasonable price I might just buy the rifle and mount the telescopic sights I intend to put on it.
