I live in Southern California, near Los Angeles. I have been going to a specific gun range out near Burbank, but all my friends tell me there are a number of better places where I may practice at. I cannot recall any of the names of the ranges that my friends give me so I am kinda stuck with the place I usually go. I could do a google search, but I rather take recommendations from people who actually know what a quality range should have instead of trusting misleading reviews.

Anyone out in the SoCal area have any specific shooting range they prefer and would recommend? According to my friends, my current range is subpar compared to others and I have never been to a legit range so please help me find a great range everyone!

Hello,

Do you have an account on Calguns.net?

I love THR, but when it comes to CA specific stuff, you will find a lot of good info there.

I've used the Calguns before but everyone there always seems really bashful about living in california and being that I love living in SoCal, I stay away from it lol. But you are right, it would definitely make a lot more sense if I asked on there. Guess it is time to make an account lol thanks!

I am not sure "bashful" is the right term.

For many of us living behind the curtain, the words and phrases that best describe how we feel about CA gun laws cannot be repeated on The High Road.
Don't get me wrong, I love living where I live and doing what I do, but the tyrannical CA gov is beyond ridiculous.

I use THR for firearms and stretegy/tactics info and Calguns for laughs, used gun purchases, and CA specific stuff.

Welcome to THR,
Lots of great people here

No help on the LA Area but one thing to always be aware of if you are shooting at an indoor range is proper ventilation.
You should be able to feel air flow moving down range away from the shooting position.
Some indoor ranges do it right some don't.
The ones that don't do it correctly can lead to high blood lead levels, a bad thing. (I know this from shooting a lot at one that didn't do it right)
Not trying to preach doom and gloom, just something to be aware of if shooting indoors, I learned the hard way.
