I want a "pancake" style, leather owb holster having a thumb-break retention for my CZ 75 Compact PCR pistol. Mainstream holster manufactures like Galco and DeSantis apparently don't make holsters for this pistol but the High Noon company does (the Sky High model) and it can be made at extra cost with a lined interior (which I prefer). Anybody have any information about this company or experience with their product? Thanks.

I have a lined Slide Guard https://www.highnoonholsters.com/leather-holsters/belt/extreme-duty/slide-guard

It is a solid holster. Rides high, canted, very secure. The lining seems like a good idea, and seems to work as they describe, but I don't have any experience with their unlined holsters.

With your desire for a thumb break, I'll assume you are LE or former LE. Unless for woods carry or open carry, I just don't see the need for a thumb break for a concealed carry holster. The Slide Guard holds the gun very securely. It is not held in place simply by gravity. High Noon has a good FAQ section, and while I'll also assume you are very experienced, and have decades of carrying, FAQ #25 is worthwhile to read.

Edit to add: If I were to do it again, I'd probably opt for the Topless ( https://www.highnoonholsters.com/leather-holsters/belt/extreme-duty/topless ) over the Slide Guard, as I like to be able to get to the thumb safety on my 1911 and the sweat shield of the Slide Guard gets in the way. It's pretty much the only thing I don't like about the holster.

Thanks JTQ for the informative inputs. And you guessed it, I retired from le 22 years ago after working in this capacity for thirty years and my insistence on a thumb-break retention system is predicated on my experiences. I've done enough rolling around on the ground and scuffling with felons not wanting to return to prison to trust the thumb-break to keep my pistol in my hands. Some will argue that the thumb-break is too slow on the draw and I will admit that for some it's slower than other friction retention devices (some of which I've tried kept the gun in place if you tightened the adjustment screw enough but, in doing so, made the gun harder to jerk free from the holster) but fast enough for me.

Our bi-annual qualification drills required officers to draw a "Third Generation" Smith & Wesson 9mm, da pistol from a snapped secured thumb-break holster, worn on the strong side at the "4:00" position, under a jacket and fire two shots (da/sa) at a target ten yards distant within two seconds. Practice may not make perfect but it may make you good enough to survive the day. And I will concede that proficiency with a thumb-break holster may require more practice than might be needed for other types of retention systems.

As a point of reference, the level of retention my Slide Guard provides with a Government Model 1911 is enough that I'd expect an Olympic gymnast could do a floor exercise routine with the gun holstered and there would be no chance of the gun falling out.

If you require a thumb break, there are options.

I love High Noon, have used many of their products. Good CZoice. This is my P-10C in a High Noon Stingray, my EDC rig.

I have these for OWB retention level 2. Not what you asked for but just an idea:

Thanks everybody for your inputs. I ended up buying the "Sky High" model from High Noon (paid $35.00 extra for a lined interior but did get the 30% discount). Hope I like it.

Construction is as good as my Don Hume pancakes.

Only difference is that the cant angle is greater.... but the 75 is a big gun, and tipping it over more prevents it from popping out under my cover garment.... which is usually a fleece vest.

I received the High Noon "Sky High" holster (lined) for my CZ "Compact" pistol a few days ago and so far I'm very impressed with the good quality construction and fit. Haven't worn it yet (a little "break-in" is going on) but I'm hoping it wears as well as it looks.
