I was at a small local GS where I purchased an Ithica SKB XL900 shotty, gas operated semi.
I bought this with the purpose of learning to shoot trap (which I know nothing about), hopefully this suit that need. I haven't been able to find much info about this model. Is anyone familiar with it? Good choice for trap or wasted $$?
It appears in very good condition. I bought it for $400 OTD.
Opinions?

Not familiar with that model, but if you shoot with other people on the trap line, you will want to get a shell stop/catcher to keep from hitting the shooter to your right with empty's. Not good etiquette to bounce hulls off other shooters on line. Dedicated trap guns will also generally shoot high also, as trap birds are climbing up and away, it helps set the shot pattern up into the bird. Good luck with it, hope it works for you.

I had an SKB XL100 slug gun model many years ago. It was a great shotgun; very reliable and handled nicely. SKB still makes shotguns though parts for some of the older models may be hard to come by. I would check with skbshotguns.com for any questions you might have in that regard.

Had one in the late 60s early 70s. IIRC it was a long recoil action like a Brownng A5. Shot well enough, but I hunt more efficiently with a double or pump. Sold it. Never missed feeding or functioning. Aluminum receiver. Pretty good balance.
