Well its that time again. Im soon to be in the market for a new pistol but im not sure whats out there. I have a SA XD-40 & a S&W Sigma 9mm.

im not into the 1911's

I was out yesterday looking at what my local shop carries. The sig & the glocks look tempting but im not sure. what do you think ??? I want something that has a SS slide. Post pics of you you have .

how do you like your sigma? i'm considering purchasing one in .40 SW as my next gun. i saw one for $275 with 3 13rnd mags... didn't sound like a bad deal, i know some of the early models had some issues, what do you think of them

The only draw back is a stiff trigger butthat can be fixed by a trigger job. other than that is a pretty good pistol.

My Vote... 1911.....:p

Sorry couldnt resist.

Time to go to the range and rent a few.... I know at my local range, If I am there to buy a gun, and buy one that day, they will let me try whatever gun I want for free ammo included.

Perhaps looking into a 357magnum Revolver....... Or if you are just into auto loaders.......

CZ's are great guns. You already mentiond sig..... wouldnt touch a glock after my XD :p

I'll second the .22 handgun recommendation. Ruger or Browning would be my suggestions. If you don't want a 22 how about a wheel gun?

Who wants a .22 after you get into the bigger calibers;)

...... Try a CZ 75B, with a Kadet Kit.... Best of both worlds.

( I think stainless on a firearm is over rated. Espcially since the only gun that I have ever had rust on me, was my 10/22 [yes on the Barrel]):what:

Third vote for CZ. They're still sleepers, IMO, but less so now than a few years ago.

Some models have their "issues", but a coulple of Wolff springs and a some dry firing to smooth up the triggers cures most problems. It's worth it, IMO.

I won the last IDPA with my ratty old Turkish military contract over-run CZ-75B. Fits my hand better than any other gun I've held.

Wheelguns are a thing unto themselves. Look for a nice 4" S&W Model 19 .357. One of the finest firearms ever devised. Mmmm...

If you can consider a revolver try a 357mag like a Ruger GP 100 or if an auto you want, get a 22 of some sort. Something like a Ruger MKII or a Browning Buckmark.

Sigma..

I had one for about 6 months in .40. The pistol always fired but much past 7 yards it shot low and to the far right.

It was the first polymer pistol I owned and so far the last, I just like mine all metal. I gave it to my dad and he seems to enjoy it.

For something cool, get yourself a wheel gun. I have a GP 100 and it has to be my favorite revolver right now. Such a pleasure to shoot with full house 125 grains in it. If you want a macho feel upgrade to a .44 magnum. Recoil is manageable and you will shoot it. Also turns head's at the range from the boom.
