How about 4227? Not exactly a soft shooter, or very economical, but still....

Unique will safely load from 38spl levels all the way to full power .357 mag loads. I'm getting similar velocities and a little better accuracy than 110/296 with 158gr cast bullets. Seems like the best overal solution to work your way up to the level you want.
