Looking for revolver gunsmith

I have a S&W model 10, need barrel shortened to 3" and new front sight. Anyone know of a good gunsmith capable of this? hpg

Is this model 10 an older "pencil" barrel or a heavy barrel with a rib. It could make a difference.

A good alternative would be to just buy one of those 3" M10 police trade-ins from J&G Sales. Probably set you back the same number of dollars. Plus, you can't have too many k-frames.

It's actually a pretty good deal. You could always sell your gun to pay for one. Think about it this way, the instant you take a chop saw to your gun you pretty much forfeit the option of getting any money out of it in the future.

Not really, I can put the extra 4" barrel I have on it. Good as new. hpg
