Looks like CMP is running out of most rifles.

Makes me glad I bought my 2 Garands and 2 Carbines from CMP before the mass hysteria has all but put them out of touch for the time being.

Where pre-election prices less on a CMP Garand or have prices remained pretty much the same?

HRA's to my knowledge are running out, an who knows if ever there will be more.
Still lots of Springfields...read where a guy that use to be a honor guard an knew his
old serial number contacted CMP...they found the rifles number an have it an will let
him know when they get to it, for him to buy it..BUT, that could be years because its
crated up along with about 100,000 other garands an they don't know when they will
uncover it. Since they are running out of Winchester an HRA's, I'm guessing that they already know all those others crates are Springfields...

I could go to CMP next week and get pretty much anything I want. they have plenty of guns. Garands, carbines, etc. the select grades are currently a little harder to come by but they are still available too. dont buy into the histeria....

Not next week you can't, the are closed after 8/22 until 9/9 for inventory and R&R. They told me today at the CMP that next week the parking lot will constantly be full of some very unhappy campers.

Just as an important tip, if going to the CMP for the first time and intend on buying pay close attention to the purchasing requirements/qualificaions and bring more supporting documentation than you think that you will need.

I received my Correct Grade HRA Garand yesterday. WOW!!! It appears to be an unissued gun...there is no wear anywhere on it. The stock is nearly perfect from what I can see through all the grease. I haven't gone through all the parts yet, but from what I've seen so far, this gun is all original. Cleaning the grease is fun...NOT!

It's kinda funny....the whole gun is covered in grease/cosmoline. Except the barrel. It's immaculately clean with not a bit of grease. A cleaning patch came out almost perfectly clean with the exception of what was picked up around the receiver.

Bailey, you know the drill. Without pictures it didnt happen. As far as thread title is concerned, it will be a very long time before the CMP is outta rifles. I was at the store not long ago and got an out back tour. They had crates and crates and crates ready to be cleaned and graded. :)

Things seem to come and go. The thing is that there is no guarantee that any one thing will be available at any one time.

The M1 Garand I ordered in May arrived yesterday. HRA. Not a mark, ding, scratch, dent of any kind shape or description on the stock (has to be new), and I damn near blinded myself when I put a bore light to it.

The real issue that hasn't been addressed much here is the AMMO situation. Now there we do have trouble, according to the CMP. After the Greek HXP stuff dries up folks best be learnin to handload or take stock in Hornady. According to inside sources that "could" be within a year. The Hornady stuff shoots great but at what $25 or $30 a box? At my current rate of shooting, that would cost me $125.00-$200.00 a week during season, just for Garand Ammo. I use M2 ball in my 1903, 1903A3, 1917, Garands and it functions well and is safe in them all. I hope a new source is found soon but like I said "future aint lookin bright on that one"
