Greetings,

I went to the range last week and brought with me my wife's Beretta 92FS, Glock 19, and SA Loaded 1911. I hardly ever shoot the Beretta and don't consider myself a good shot with it. Yet, when shooting last week, at 15 yards shot out the 3" black circle with 50 rounds, no flyers outside the black. The Glock, I never shoot this thing well either and then.... shoot out the black 3" circle with 2 flyers outside the black at 15 yards with 50 rounds. The 1911, I normally shoot pretty well, yet this time couldn't shoot it into an 8" circle at 10 yards. I'm sure being consistent with one pistol is the best thing to do, but what's the point of owning a variety of pistols if you only shoot one of them? I was just about ready to give up on the Glock and sell it, but after my last shooting session, found myself really enjoying it. Actually now I'm wondering about getting a 2nd hand G17. I have to believe I'm not the only one who goes through this. One day the pistol you shoot great with leaves you looking like you don't know what you're doing, and then the pistol you normally don't shoot well with makes you look like a competent shooter. For me, the Glock 19 is that pistol. How about you?

I go through cycles with my guns as well. I image if I just stuck with one I'd probably improve with it faster but by trying a variety of guns I think my over-all shooting improves more quickly because differant guns expose differant weaknesses.

I've finally settled on CZs as "my gun" and there are a lot of them available in the same grip and action. Not as many as 1911s but the CZs fit me better, aren't as large, and doesn't have so many options to tinker with.

The last one is an advantage to me because I just can't leave my Delta Elite alone  I keep having to "upgrade" parts of it weather they need it or not.

After firing so many rounds in the other pistols it doesn't surprise me that you shot poorly with the 1911. The light short trigger threw you off after shooting the heavier, longer reset triggers.
Next time try that test in reverse.

I've noticed also that my concentration cannot last more than two boxes of ammo. I can shoot decent groups from a 45 or 9mm for not to exceed 100 rounds, after that it's mainly noise. :D Eyes, and concentration go after that. What were we talking about? :p
