I have a pair of Panasonic FB-10 binoculars. The focusing knob is a little sticky when focusing in and I'd like to lube it. The knob is plastic tho. Any suggestions as to what I should use and how I should lube them?
I like them because they are very compact. They are old tho and if I mess up I won't be able to get them fixed because Panasonic won't service them. I know because I tried.
Thanks.

First thing I would try is a pure Silicone grease. Use a toothpick to apply. I've found small tubes at an auto parts store for electrical use. Shouldn't hurt the plastic. Don't get it on the glass. It would be difficult to remove.

Dialectic Silicone grease from the auto parts store is not going to harm the plastic or seals.

However, it is very unlikely you can get it down inside where it needs to be to do any good.

Silicone spray is your best bet.

Spray some in the can cap.
Then apply a drop or two to the joint, set them on end so it can run down in the joint.
And start working the adjustment dial back and forth to get it down in the threads and seal.
