So I have been wanting a new carry gun for a while now. I like the looks & size of the M&P 2.0 40 compact. I was wondering about the opinions of those who have experience with the new 2.0 guns. I am thinking about selling my old XD-40 & PT 111 G-2 & picking one up.

Get your hands on one and see what it feels like.

I have no complaints about the 2.0s. They have great ergonomics.

This^. The only thing I'd add is that with the grip having a sandpaper type texture, you'll want a holster that keeps the grip from having contact with your skin. I like the grips, but if they're too rough you can lightly sand them.

There are only two striker-fired, polymer-framed semi-autos whose ergonomics, accuracy, reliability, sights and triggers I trust: M&P 2.0 and SIG P320.

You can't go wrong with any of the 2.0s.

I bought a pro 1.0 ( I guess) which has a good trigger. I shot the 2.0 but did not A & B them and am very happy with the one I got.

I have the 2.0 FS 9mm and really like the improvements they did. I don't find the grip too aggressive at all. I ended up buying a Shield 2.0 as well, the texture isn't as rough on it though. I like the 2.0 and plan on keeping this one, and bought 12 extra mags to go with it and any others I may come across at a good deal.

I prefer the M&P 2.0C to the Glock 19 (same size). Fits my hand better and the grip angle is what I am used to (1911).

I now have over 3,000 rnds thru the M&P 2.0C without a single malfunction. I did upgrade it with an Apex Action Enhancement Polymer Trigger & Duty/Carry Kit. Good upgrade but not required.

Dollar for dollar, I consider both the M&P 2.0 9mm and .40 to be the best of today's polymer pistols.

I will go a further step and state that IMO they are equal or better than many 1911's that cost so much more.

S&W really scored a winner with this design.

I have a 2.0 in 9mm. i had to send it back once for failures to extract. I have fired about 500 rounds since repair and it is nice with no malfunctions. Its as accurate as my H&K P30, 4" groups at 25 us, but I prefer the trigger and ergos. With any M&P I unfortunately believe you need to shoot at least a few thousand rounds to test reliability. Mine didnt develop problens until about 2000 rounds after purchase. Dont spend more than $400 for an M&P. i have 7 m&p's total and 3 have gone back for problems at one pointor another, granted ive easily shot 20k rounds through mine.

Overall my 2.0 9mm is my favorite pistol.

I think he means compare them side by side. A vs B at the same time.
That is the way I read it also. The first time I hear the term it was in reference to comparing stereo speakers, where they'd switch the same source music between to two sets and ask, "Do you prefer A (switch sets) or B?"

At the prices you can get the 2.0 for, absolutely. With quality night sights, still less than any Glock with its cheap-ass plastic non-night sights, and (unless you qualify for first-responder pricing), typically much less than the worthy SIG P-320.

Looking at buying a compact 2.0 in 9mm.

But not even slightly interested if they are still in T&E stage and have an issue ?.

My deal still hasn't gone through yet. I guess I will call the guy this week & see if he wants them or not. If he doesn't I have someone else that is interested but I am not in a rush. I don't have to do anything in a hurry. I do believe this is the way I am going to go though.

Another question, Is it hard to find holsters for these. Would a holster made for a G-23 or 19 likely fit a M&P 2.0 compact?

Anything that is made for the M&P compact or full size will work with the 2.0. Glock holsters normally will not work.

The compact 2.0s, both the 3.6: and the original 4" in 9mm are excellent. No issues whatsoever reported, and this pistol is receiving almost unanimously positive reviews everywhere.

I got the 2.0 in 9mm for $350 OTD from Brownell's; what intrigued was the varying sizes of backstraps. I own Glocks and the Gen 3 with the finger grooves has just never felt right. I can shoot it good enough for its intended purpose (nightstand gun), but I have wide hands but my fingers are a little shorter ratio-wise. The varying backs on the 2.0 allowed me to get a grip that really feels better in my hands. I also just got a SIG P365 and that also feels a lot better than my G26, so my days of Glocks might be numbered......
