Anyone had any experience with the M&P Shield ported 3" barrel? I held one in LGS and I liked the grip angle and the trigger pull. Nice size for CCW. I wish they would stop temping me like that.

Is this the performance center model? No experience personally, but I've seen some reviews on youtube. Hickock45 compared it to the regular model.

I have one on my hip right now. I have the 9mm Shield Performance Center. I had wanted a regular 9mm Shield for quite a while and when I saw the Performance Center I had to have it. I like ported pistols in general and have had two ported Glocks in the past. The porting helps very very slightly with the recoil when shooting them side by side, but the trigger is a bit nicer than the standard Shield. I like the fiber optic sights but will probably switch them out for night sight soon. Overall I like it and would recommend it. I have had zero malfunctions in the 5-600 mixed rounds I have shot. I carry it with standard pressure 124 grain Gold Dots.

My standard Shield is super easy on recoil but the PC ported pistol is really slick looking. Now if I can only get my sister to return mine.....

I own a Smith & Wesson M&P CORE 9mm Ported Performance Center. The barrel flip is reduced and it shoots well. What I dislike is the front sight becomes covered with burnt powder residue after just a few shots.

I also own the standard M&P Shield which I like. I personally feel the standard Shield is the better deal for the money.

I'm a little bias because of issues I had with my higher priced CORE new out of the box. It came with a bad striker assembly requiring the CORE to go back to S&W. Yeah, they repaired it and it works, but no excuse for S&W lack of quality control.

My Shield worked the first time and has never failed to fire. I have many round of various types and all have worked perfectly. I know the porting looks like a cool feature, but I wouldn't pay extra based on what I now know from my own experience.

My EDC concealed carry is a standard bone stock Shield 9MM. In over 5000 rounds I can count the FTF and FTE on one hand. So far it's been the Toyota of my gun fleet :D I'd like to add an Apex trigger but I built an AR and bought a used M&P 9C instead  so I'll do them both at the same time, unless I buy a .45 Auto or a .357 revolver.

I've shot a Performance Center Shield 9, it was nice but not nice enough to make me wish I'd bought it instead.
