M1 Garand

Would the Hornaday 155 gr Palma 308 cal ammo be safe to use in my M1 garand 308?

Just noticed you have a .308 Garand.

Question would be best referred to either Hornady or the smith that build your .308

Better contact Hornady, or add a Schuster nut and adjust away. I wonder if a 155gr Palma load would be designed for longer barrelled bolt guns which are used in Palma.

There is Hornady 168gr A-Max ammo which is designed for the M1, but yours is 308.

Palma ammunition is designed to give the highest velocity possible within bolt rifles.

I have no doubt the pressure curve is not appropriate for a Garand. I would not use it in a Garand.

I agree with SlamFire1. While it no doubt uses the right burn rate powder, it is designed for boltguns and uses too much of it.
