M1/T1E1 testing

Hi all,
What happened in Aug 1931 to hold up the testing of the pilot .30 cal gas operated T1E1? When some recoil testing was done on Oct. 16 1931, what happened to stop the testing of the T1E1?

Hi all,
The answer to the second part of the quiz is that a lip on the bolt broke causing the extractor to come apart with all of the other parts of the bolt. No one will get the first part so I declare the quiz over.
