I have 2 m39's, one b barrel and the other vkt, the vkt was good condition the b barrel was bought unissued. After shooting the B barrel several times, i made a major mistake of over tighting the reciver to the stock and the entire stock cracked majorly and can not be repaired. The major problem is that i can not find a replacement m39 stock!!! I have contacted, Gunsnammo.com, and Aimsurplus... IF you know of any where to look or any one who could possibly have them please email me at:

Thanks for reading

Numrich, also known as the Gun Parts Store, and Brownell's are places to try. If in last resort, you can try calling Marlin.

I have had similiar trouble with surplus stocks, especially the M39 Artic Birch stocks.

I have gotten so much experience repairing them, that now I only buy the ones with the cracked stocks at a deep discount.

All cracks can be repaired to look pristine, and proper finnishing techniques can hide a "multitude of sins".

It is not hard to do but it is slow, as there are curing time prameters.

You mentioned overtightening action screws as a possible cause. Very effective bedding pillars for all Mosins can be made from 3/8" threaded lamp nipples, obtainable at any hardware store for less than $1. This eliminates that problem & also assist bedding and barrel float.

Just wanted 2 thank every one for there time in helping me had searched for like a hour on google:banghead: and couldn't have done it with out ya!! ty :)
