M4 or M243?

The 5.56 has a tendency to zip through targets non vital areas and offers no knockdown effect.

Rolls eyes. He was dead with that first hit to the torso, he just didn't have time to find it out before another round opened a hole the size of his fist in his head...

Other than the above, I agree with you, the weapon is likely an M249 SAW firing 1-in-4 tracers. As a matter of fact, the SAW was likely firing:

1 Cartridge, 5.56mm, Tracer, M856
4 Cartridge, 5.56mm, Ball, M855

Or this combo:

1 Cartridge, 5.56mm, Tracer, M856
4 Cartridge, 5.56mm, Armor Piercing (AP), M995

Note the 5.56mm AP M995 round is typically a SAW-only thing, designed largely to help barrier/vehicle penetration.

There is no way Iraqi Militia made those shots. The aim was to well controlled as well as the short controlled bursts. That is US military training. Hodgies, regardless of whom they were trained by, spray and pray. These were well placed shots.

US trains the Iraq "militia" now and provides them with gear such as cammies and rifles

the military is limited to using FMJ only due to the constraints of the geneva convention. Use hollow points (as law enforcement does) and .223 has a proven track record that has put people down without over penetrating.
.223 Hollow points and a good center mass shot will put down a person with a single shot, no problem.

Old footage...Had over 2 years

I say M4 of some company commander that has tracers loaded, M4A1 is my geuss, next would be the M249 minimi ,IMHO....Defenitely 5.556most likely m855 mixed with tracers 3 or 4 to one.

I could just hear it after the shots(in my head)," Don't these guys know hwho we are? We are the Fu*%in U.S. Army!!!" :neener:

this is a rather old video that was probably recorded before the rebuilding of iraq's military.

I was thinking the same thing, it has been around atleast 2 yrs. I remember getting it sent via email with just the title "OWNED" and that about describes it. Still good footage though.
