Got this link from over at AR15.com by one of the posters. I didn't see it over here, but I thought it might be an item of interest as I'm not sure the poster comes this way.

One item of interest that I found was the drop in effectiveness of the 14.5" barreled M4 vs the 20" barreled A2.
You go from a max effective range of 550m point target/800m area in the A2 to 500m point/600m area.
Muzzle Velocities are 3100 vs 2970 fps.
I'm wondering if they based the change in max effective range of a point target from 800m to 600m based on velocity loss or purely mechanical range limits of the removable A3 carry handle sight.
