As far as registering the guns, it's not difficult. You could get get pre-May 1986 guns; you could also obtain post-'86 guns with an 01 or 07 FFL with Type 3 SOT certificate and "dealer sample" letters for them.
The FFL/Type 3 SOT route would also be less expensive. $200 for a three-year license and $500 annually for the SOT certificate. Post-'86 guns, last I knew, run $15-25,000, The last pre-'86 M2 I saw for sale was about $350,000.
I should note that the above applies to guns IN the USA. I don't know if BATFE would allow any to come in from outside the USA.
