Machine guns on an old warbird?

As far as registering the guns, it's not difficult. You could get get pre-May 1986 guns; you could also obtain post-'86 guns with an 01 or 07 FFL with Type 3 SOT certificate and "dealer sample" letters for them.

The FFL/Type 3 SOT route would also be less expensive. $200 for a three-year license and $500 annually for the SOT certificate. Post-'86 guns, last I knew, run $15-25,000, The last pre-'86 M2 I saw for sale was about $350,000.

I should note that the above applies to guns IN the USA. I don't know if BATFE would allow any to come in from outside the USA.

But aren't aerodynamic forces more uniformly spread out along the wing, as opposed to a discrete point, or set of points?

Of course not or they wouldn’t be designed the way they are. There wouldn’t be any need for stronger sections of a wing if they all had the same forces on them.

And that’s nit even counting wings that have the engines mounted on them.
 
On the airframe side of this conversation, fighters (the primary aircraft with armament in the wings) are designed to survive G-forces many times above static loads to allow them to survive the twists and turns of combat. In other words, the basic airframe of a fighter is heavily overbuilt for normal or even airshow use. Properly maintained, you could mount about as many guns of whatever practical caliber you might desire on a typical fighter and fire them to your hearts content (wallet permitting).
