A buddy intro'd us to his new Baby Eagle 9 mm to night. Overall, I was surprised. The one thing we all agreed on was that one of his mags wouldn't lock the slide open when it was empty and was quite annoying. Is it a bad mag spring thing? How might this be problem fixed?

First, take off the slide.
Re-install just the slide stop.
Next, slowly insert an empty mag.
Watch the mag follower engage the slide stop.
If it engages fully, and the gun would normally lock open with the slide stop up, chances are, it's a too-weak mag spring.

Ill put bets on a weak mag spring or recoil spring. If the recoil spring is toast it will allow to much slide speed for a weak mag spring to "catch" it.

Your always better off replacing them at the same time...they work as a pair..............

Shoot well.......

If it's just a spring problem (the gun was purchased used), it would be a simple log-in to gunsprings.com, right?
Thanks guys, I thought it might be something that simple, but I have very little experience w/ the Baby Eagles & I just wanted to make sure ;)
