Oddball question:
How interchangable are magazine followers for detachable magazines?
If you have, say, a .223 follower for an AR can you use the same follower in a magazine for a Mini-14 or some other .223 magazine? Why or why not?
Are there any issues swapping followers from one AR mag manufacturer to another?
Who's tried it? What results did you get?

Not. Nada. No.

Mag bodies & followers for M16/AR-15, Mini-14, etc, are specific to the gun it is made for.

Most have guide ribs bent into the sheet meat that control the cartridges, the spring, and that the follower must fit.
Otherwise it won't "follow" smoothly when the spring pushes it up againt the stack of cartridges above it.

You can swap any AR-15 / M16 follower into any mil-spec M16/ AR-16 mag body, and it shouuld fit and work perfectly.

But it for sure will not work in a Mini-14, or other mag.
