Since the release of the P365 there have been quite a few threads debating the capacity it offers versus it's reliability. One of the posters mentioned a company called MagGuts, which offers magazine extensions for a number of guns. I ordered one for my Shield, which adds 2 rounds to the magazine and it's worked so well that I ordered additional ones, extending all my magazines. I've had no malfunctions with them, and they add very little to the length of the magazine. I now have the capacity of 10 or 11 rounds, which I'm comfortable with. With the exception of that one post, I haven't seen this product mentioned. I thought I'd post this for those of you who want the capacity the P365 offers, aren't comfortable with it's reliability and were looking to add capacity to other guns. The only downside I saw was the cost, which for my Shield was $32.95 each. I understand that some of you may not want to spend that, but it was worth it to me. On a side note, we have a number of threads debating the reliability of the P365. We don't need another one, so please let's not go there.

Hmmmmm. The Sig 365 has an extended 12 rounder available, and the 10. Why extend the 10, just use the 12? Ok, the 12 might get an extender for 14. How long does this make the grip .... and will it start to print?
At some point maybe, just carry a bigger gun?

But, hey, if a company can make a 365 extension and there's a market - - - - - GO FOR IT!!!!!

It's taken exactly 1 post for this to take a turn towards the negative from someone who didn't read what I wrote, something that's happening way to often now. They don't make an extension for the P365, at least not yet. I added 2 rounds to the capacity of my Shield. I never stated that I was extending the capacity of a P365. The point of me posting this was to let people who wanted some additional capacity in their carry guns but weren't comfortable with the reliability of the P365 (real or imagined, I'm not going there), that they have this option.

I wasn't trying to be negative . I happen to own a P365 and like it. I have no idea if anyone makes an extended mag for the Sig; I was trying to point out it will be a market decision as to whether it happens or not.

Sorry if I rained on your parade ...

I have to admit that when I first read the OP, I thought you were writing about a kit for the 365. I had to read it a couple of times before I understood.

It has nothing to do with raining on anyone's parade. I'm talking about adding to the capacity of my Shield as an alternative to the P365 while adding very little length the the magazine and you're talking about the 12 round magazine of the P365 and how long it makes the grip. Comment, criticize or ask questions about what I wrote. I'm good with that. Not bothering to read what I wrote and going off on tangents regarding things I never said helps no one.

I re-worded the reference to adding capacity to other guns to avoid any confusion.

I've considered the MagGuts mod for my shield and read the experience of many purchasers. Most report a positive experience with the minority having problems with feed reliability and most of those were with the early versions.

In the end I've decided to stick with the stock magazines. Not so much out of a concern for reliability but simply that I'm satisfied with the 7+1 and 8+1 capacity.

I bought the Mag guts for my CW380. I did not buy them for the capacity, but the fact that I believe the are actually a better magzine than the OEM Kahr. I think the spring is better and I like the metal follower. When I was breaking in the Kahr, I did get better performance from the Mag Guts.

Yeah, I saw a mention of Magguts in one of the Threads here awhile back and checked out their website.

Looks to me like a really nice & clever way to "invisibly" increase mag capacity ... but I have not (yet) been able to talk myself into spending that much money for such an item. :)

A couple of weeks ago I bought two magguts +1 and one +2 extenders for my Glock 43.

So far, no problems feeding and they seem to work quite well. Will eventually buy a couple for my Ruger LC9s.

I tried magguts for my LCP and a P238. Never had even the slightest problem with either, although i hated the LCP itself. For the P238 the magguts all but elimates the "under-gunned" feeling if I am not carrying anything else. It makes it a true pocket gun that can hold 9rds with the extended mag, without any loss in reliability or any increase in size.

The problem with the Kahr magazines is the retaining button that holds the base plate.

I have 2 mags where the base plate slips off easily.

Does the Magguts components fix that ?

Given that you'd be replacing everything by the body of the magazine, I believe it would.

I saw that they offer them for the Bodyguard 380, so while at the range today I rented one. Has anyone here used them in the Bodyguard?
