Magpul cost me too much money

Magpul the company is a terrorist to my wallet. They just keep coming out with more and more gear that I must add to my ARs. Not only are there products extremely well-made and ergonomically efficient, they are arguably some of the best buys for AR accessories on the market. I have been known to drop more than a few dollars on replacement accessories in various colors. But this company must be stopped. For you consideration I place before you The Magpul UBR collapsable rifle stock. Often called by Magpul fanboys as the CTR's cooler ******* big brother. Sure it's sturdy, looks like something out of Stormship Troopers, and costs more than I make in a day even with overtime. Only Magpul could make other items in their own product line look like crap in comparison. At over $260 I was going to say it was the most expensive add on I have purchased for my gun collection, but I would be wrong. The Stag Arms piston kit beat it. But if you factor in all the other Magpul FDE I bought to match I'm grateful for my understanding spouse. Just remember guys just keep telling yourself, it's an investment and when you sell all your guns you can retire in luxury. 4cf5ce5f-ba0c-664e.jpg

Changing the furniture is almost always a loser if you sell the gun, although it may help it sell faster than the run of the mill gun at the same price.

Bottom line is no buyer will like it as much as you do (or admit it to, in an effort to get a lower price) and "not all original" is usually used to negotiate downward

Looks excellent! I, too, believe Magpul to be one of the best values for what you get on the market today. My goal was/is to build the lightest/handliest AR I can afford to and they simply have what I'm looking for.

So far I have in FDE:

-MOE stock
-MOE Mid-length handgauard
-MOE grip and winter trigger guard
-Gen II rear flip-up "iron" sight

With the easy, straight-foward installs, it has been SO much fun outfitting my rifle. :)

Cheers,

I'm a Magpul whore too! Got it all over my AR, my "tactical" 10/22 and have their new 870 stock set on order.

I would never outfit/modify a firearm while worrying about resale. There are more important things than market price.

. Just remember guys just keep telling yourself, it's an investment and when you sell all your guns you can retire in luxury.

Then what will you shoot when you're retired?!

I don't own any Mag-pul stuff yet, but a PRS stock is definitely in the near future...

Magpul's best stuff is still their magazines.

I am up to 8 of them.

Amen to that. What sold me on this company was when they had a problem early in their production of magazines. They had a batch that missed a chemical bath that hardened the plastic. They didn't hide it or ignore the problem. They announced what batch number was bad and replaced them at their expense. Great company. I remember Thermolds and Orlites experiment with plastic mags. Thermolds were bad but Orlites were sturdy but had bad followers. I wish all our troops got pmags as standard issue. It would mean the best for our troops.

I do like their mags and have collected a number of them. Can't say enough good things about them.

That being said, I found their inexpensive forearm to be wanting. It was nice for the first couple of weeks. When I put a vertical grip on it, it started getting loose and sloppy. I've ran into a few folks that had the same experience. It has since been replaced by a free floater from Daniel Defense.

Just because it says MagPul on it doesn't mean it's a keeper.

I second that, Magpul is second to none! I was going to get a UBR for one of my new builds but I have been waiting for one for 6 months so I finally ordered me an Ace Skeletonized stock which I kind of like as well but probably not as much as I would have a UBR! ^^^do you mind messenging me and telling me where you got yours? I think I have found some but I am not 100% positive.

I like the Magpul flip up sights and mags, the rest of thier stuff I can take or leave.

Your front sight is on backwards.

Only 8? I probably have 25 or so of the 30 rounders and 10 of the 20 rounders. Best mags period.

My fave 20's are still the Colt mags. I've got 16+ 30 rd magazines, it took me a while to convince me about Mag pul. Without going overboard I'm trying to just buy a few at a time.

i like the CTR stock with the tenson lock to get the buttstock to not rattle. I had one on a 6.8 that I built and I will be adding another shortly. their MOE forearm is one step above airsoft junk as it is flimsy and loose after a short while... the pmags are decent especially the newer ones with the cap that holds the rounds down so they don't put too much pressure on the mag lips.

I admit I am amazed at Magpul. They make plenty of stuff I can live without, but they have also come out with a tremendous amount of really cool, functional gear. They have raised the bar and make a lot of gear that is now the standard for me and many others.

Like others have said I really like their mags. I have used and like a number of their stocks. I'm currently using a MIAD grip on one of my guns. Overall I like their stuff

The magpul products I would skip are the MOE handguard, and the MBUS (unless they really are backup sights and are only going on a plinker). The MBUS are not really hard use sights. I do use a rear MBUS on one of my .22 uppers. My go to wears a troy and an aimpoint.

I'm still waiting for the AK47 pmag.... and stock set.

Just get the the vltor or CAA aluminum adapter and run the magpul (or other AR) stock of your liking.

I can't really see much room for improvement. I guess if they copy the bulgarian polymers there would at least be more good mags available.
