Maine Waiting period and Local pre-emption

Two bills are currently before the Maine legislator.LD 310 would mandate a 10-day waiting period for law-abiding citizens who purchase firearms in Maine. Sponsored by Senator Margaret Rotundo (D-16), LD 344 would amend the current preemption statute by allowing local governments to regulate the possession of firearms on public property. This could create a patchwork of local laws which one would have to keep abreast of in order to stay legal. Please contact your Maine reps and voice your opposition to these bills. What the hell is going on in Maine this month? I'm getting out of Massachusetts to enjoy some freedom up there, and now it being flooded with anti gun bills!
