March 20th, 9am-1pm, Rally in Albany. If needed, bus routes & pickup times are below.

In N.Y. State alone there are approximately 200 pieces of gun legislation being proposed. By far, most is anti-gun. https://www.nysrpa.org/files/nysrpa-lr.pdf

At best this legislation creates hindrances to the current & future law abiding citizens rights to obtain & bear arms, as well as hindrances to manufacturers & dealers to conduct legal commerce.

At worst this legislation is the slow, but sure, revocation of our constitutional right to bear arms and protect/provide for our properties and our families.

These bills seek to control people and violate their rights by circumventing the constitution through secondary rules & regulations rather than lawful amendments to the constitution as provided by its designers.

On March 20th, 2012 from 9:00am to 1:00pm in the "Well" of the State Legislative Office Building in Albany there will be a rally advocating the protection of our 2nd Amendment rights and an end to the circumvention & erosion of the Constitution of the United States of America. The keynote address will be given by NRA-EVP Wayne LaPierre."

Bus information to the rally: http://www.scopeny.org/albany/index.html

In Ulster County the pickup routes & times arranged by the Federated Sportsmen's Clubs of Ulster County (FSCUC.com) are listed below. Seats are $20.00 roundtrip. (*some may be available for free)

You do not have to be a member of FSCUC or an U.C. resident to catch a ride.

There will be three pick up spots in Ulster County.

Spot 1: 6:30-6:45 leaving 6:45 am sharp from old Ames Plaza, Napanoch

Spot 2: 7:00-7:05 leaving 7:05 am sharp from Stone Ridge Fire House on Rt. 209

Spot 3: 7:20-7:30 leaving 7:30 am sharp from Hudson Valley Mall, rear of Macy's bldg.

Est. time of return 3:30pm - 4:30pm.

Reservations must be paid in advance. $20.00 check can be sent to: FSCUC, att. Elmer Le Suer, PO Box 3873, Kingston, NY. 12402, also include pick-up spot & cell phone # to contact you. More info. http://www.georgecoleauctions.com/fscuc/albanyday2012.doc or call Elmer @ c-914-466-5940 or Jim Smiseth @ [email protected] or H-845-687-0738

I am a member of the Wawarsing Rod & Gun Club (WRGC) which is a member of the Federated Sportsmen's Clubs of Ulster County (FSCUC), however, I do not speak on behalf of the WRGC or FSCUC.

The FSCUC has about 5000 combined members throughout Ulster County and so far we have 1 bus filled (about 55 people). That is a nice start, but please folks, we need to show an overwhelming presence. Let’s get 3 buses at least. Getting 160+ out of 5000 members should be as easy as saying “From My Cold, Dead Hands”

Please get the word out and, if at all possible, please attend.

I personally think it is time to start showing the politicians that we, the normally too busy to take action law abiding citizens, can & will organize en masse. We have to at least be willing to take a day off from work to stand together in defense of our liberties. (Just think, a day off from work may allow us to avoid the "worst case scenario”).

I'm not asking you to do this solely for you & me, I’m also asking on behalf of our children.
If we do not stand our ground against the invaders of our constitution our children may well have no constitutional ground to stand on.

Though I believe it is worth taking the day off from work, I also realize that it is not possible for everybody to so.

I’m just asking that the people who believe, like I do, that our constitution is being shredded before our eyes, stop making excuses and at least put in 1:1,000,000th of the effort our fore-brethren did to protect their, and in turn, our liberties.

It is just that whenever I compare our “so called” burden of giving up a day’s pay to the burden of our fore-fathers, brothers, and sisters giving up their lives, I don't feel any empathy for us.
If we cannot find a way to overcome the burden of a day off from work to stand in defense of our liberties then maybe we do not deserve to keep the liberties our fore-brethren fought and died for us to have.

Is it laziness and/or the lack of appreciation for the freedoms we were left to stand guard over?
Are these freedoms we are supposed to protect and pass on to our children not worth taking a day off?

If money is the issue then call the federations or other sports organizations in your area, and if need be, outside your area and ask them if they have any sponsored seats available.
Some people are donating money for seats for others to go in their place and some organizations are donating seats themselves.

If time or another responsibility is the issue, then buy a seat for someone else to fill.

You do not need to be a member of any organization to attend or to sponsor a seat.

Please remember our children's liberties are in much greater jeopardy then our own, so let's give them all the help we can while we are still here to do so.

To those of you, no matter your political leaning, who choose to support the erosion of the constitution via such legislation, because it does not affect you. You should keep in mind that when these politicians are done violating the rights of your fellow citizens with whom you disagree, they will soon after be violating the rights of you and your fellow citizens with whom you do agree.

The only control a politician does not like is self control.

All-- while you may have to pay for the bus ride the OP references, the event itself is free. This will be the 3rd year in a row Wayne laPierre has spoken-- it's well worth attending.

DRSFMD made an important point; there are no fees for the event itself –Thx DRSFMD.

Another thing I should clarify is: This event is open to the public so feel free to pack your own vehicles; You Do Not have to use any of the available bus services to attend. I just want to rock the house with as many people as possible. Walk, take a jet, or anything in between, just be there. Don't forget to grab some other bodies along the way.

Below are some “other helpful notes” from Elmer Le Suer @ http://www.georgecoleauctions.com/fscuc/albanyday2012.pdf

1).Your space is NOT reserved until your money is rcvd…

2). Several Clubs have agreed to pony up half the bus fare for the first so many people from their club… Maybe your club will do it too!

3).The question I received the most last year…Yes The Buses Have Bathrooms!

4).The other question I received the most last year…Yes, You Can Buy Food There… There is a Cafeteria, McDonalds, and Several Other Cafes/Sandwich Shops Etc…!

5).Handicap… We will drop the able bodied off at the closest access point to “The Well” allowed by event personnel.
Anyone with true handicap may be dropped outside on street level above the “Well”. This entrance is closer and quicker to get into the well but is reserved only for handicapped guests of the Legislative Office Building.

6).No Guns/Knives - they will not clear the security checkpoints and you will have turn them over or stay outside. As A Matter Of Fact Try To Avoid Having Any Metal On You At All…

7). No Implements of Bodily Harm – I think you get the picture here… It’s like going through the airport security!

8). You may bring small backpacks, attaches, laptop bags, etc… but they will be checked, and you may not be permitted to bring them into the Assembly or Senate Chambers… Purses are usually accepted in Chambers…

9). Consider Our Collective Image At All Times – There may be anti’s who will badger and try to incite you… It only takes one short fuse to snap and make us all look bad so let’s all be on our best behavior.

10). Ask your club to prepare concerns you would like to have presented to your legislators. You could prepares peaking points in advance or a written statement which may or may not be signed at your club meeting and we will make sure it is delivered in person to your senators and assemblymen.

11). Anyone is invited… Ask a friend… If you really can’t go, find someone to go for you… If you want to pack your car w/people to try & save money, GREAT… just go! We need bodies… Still meet & depart from mall if you can.

12). Meals – There are sandwich shops, vendors and a cafeteria nearby by. No beer or alcohol is permitted.

13). Once the busses drop us, they will not return until departure time, so plan to travel light…

14).You do not have to speak, but will have the opportunity to do so if you want to…

15). It’s all inside… Light Jacket or Sweater is plenty… Plan to leave your coat in the bus you’ll hate carrying it all
day…

16). Best signage is something you can wear. Banners and signage may be denied.

Also be aware that the parking situation in downtown Albany is HORRIBLE-- and the neighborhood is even worse. You won't find parking on the main streets, and you'll end up having to walk blocks through horrible, drug infested ghettos without any protection. If you can find somewhere to park along the Western Ave/Washington Ave/ Central Ave corridors and take a CDTA public bus the rest of the way, it's probably worth it.

Another option may be to park at one of the malls, such as crossgates or colonie center, and catch a bus down. I know they both have security and are in decent sections of Albany. I dont know about the times or cost because I don't ride the bus.

Well I wouldn't call it HORRIBLE, it's about like any city.
There are a few large parking garages fairly close to the Capitol but they fill up fast for an event like this.
As to having to walk blocks through horrible, drug infested ghettos, I work downtown very near the Capitol and haven't seen that in the 14 yrs I have worked there.
You would have to walk a LONG way to be in any kind of an area like drsfmd describes.
Don't be put off by such blatant hyperbole.

I'd be there but I'm getting shipped off to Syracuse for the day :-/
Try sending somebody in your place Archigos. I gave a little speech to our sportmen's federation last night and i concluded with this:

"We the people often talk of wanting politicians that actually represent us and do not govern beyond what the constitution allows. In this particular instance it’s our 2nd Amendment right to keep and bear arms. Well assemblyman Brian Kolb is standing for our 2A right and we need to stand by him. We need to show up with thousands on March 20th so that after we leave Brian still feels us behind him. Then when he bumps into his anti-gun colleagues in the halls of the capitol building he can stand tall knowing his civilian army will be their when he needs us".
