nice....is that 3 or 4 X? Please friends have to know that also, if people score the same the amount of X can decide who is on top. Good close up of the target help also thanks.

It's 6 Xs, but I'm not in the running as there are 99s posted in Class 3 and mine is only a 97.

OK, still want to keep a accurate scoring for everybody at the end, I might post statistics by number of members entered and average scoring divided by as such. I may also call out 2nd or 3rd place and what was used.

This thread already has me wanting to look deeper into the Savage TR-22 you posted which is a great group and score.

Well, I'm still a stand alone thus far in class 1, but please don't do that. If I knew numbers would be talleyed at the end, I wouldn't have shot my Springfield, which I knew I couldn't hit well with, but did it for the fun of it.

Also, thanks for the challenge lionking. I had lost interest in my .22lr rifles. New found interest in guns that you already own is a hell of a money saver.

Well, the rifle's capabilities far exceed the abilities of the shooter. But I learn something every time I take it out. Plus there was a pretty stiff wind blowing and I'm exceptionally poor at doping the wind ;-)

Since we're running to the end of April, I will try and get out again in Class 1 so that you will have won against some, albeit quite modest, competition.

ok, no problem, I do plan on entering the standing classes as well as rested classes so you won't be the only one and hopefully others do also

Be still my heart...Is what Fats said, that this runs thru end of April, true? If so I still have a chance to shoot.

post it, believe me if I do not good or so so I'll post it as should others. Posting what you have is being real, and besides a member might see something in your group or score that could help to give advice on getting better you never know.
Since this is about points, not groups, I'm going for the full score, and should be able to do it. Not having any bullets in the 9 ring, that's what would be better :D

Oh, and I didn't realise Irons was a choice prone at 50, but still C3, so I'll have a bash at that too. And I might give standing another crack too but not sure I could beat young Fats

GOOD REASON TO SHOOT.
Just printed off the target.
I've got 3 rifles to run through CLASS 1 next week when I'm off work.
Win 75
Rem 521T
CZ 99 (Zastava)

BTW if you want to enter a family member using a same gun it alright to do so just make mention when posting

First let me say that this was way harder than I thought it would be. I never practice rifles offhand, I entered a couple of the handgun challenges and they where easy as I shoot offhand all the time. I tried to hold the dot steady and slowly squeeze the trigger and it was exhausting.
I shot 25 rounds, 5 practice and shot 2 targets. After I finished I hung a fresh painted 8" gong and had no trouble ringing it fairly rapid fire, get the dot on target and slap the trigger. I am sure my groups where smaller than the slow fire groups, but I had only printed 2 targets.

I'm really interested to see how I do standing offhand, can't remember the last time tried with official targets, through the years shooting .22 standing has been plinking where I would kick a soda can up and around or busting clay pigeons

Yup, I posted the Rimfire Prove It thread a while back because everyone was talking smack on another thread. Once people started shooting it they found out it was tougher then thought. Looking forward to shooting this one this week.

Federal Gold Medal ammo FE3E4D87-D4A4-4357-B694-80A43CF68231.jpeg
93 score if I calculated correctly.
It was good practice and I see I need a lot more!
Looking forward to the next challenge / I have two additional A-23 targets printed so I may shoot this one again.

So I got out last night before the club general meeting.
Stacked as many cards against me as possible. Coming off 4 - 12 hour night shifts, wind was gusting 10-20 mph, range runs East to West, targets were in the shade. But sometimes ya just gotta shoot.
Results were dismal :(
CLASS 1
Rem 521T offhand iron sights 66
Win 75 offhand iron sights 64
CLASS 3
Rem 521T front bag/bench iron sight 94
Win 75 front bag/bench iron sights 90

Gotta take the good days with the bad.
I'll try to get out some morning with little wind and the sun on the targets.

59 with 3 ‘total missed’ shots

The reminders -
A). It is a good thing I don’t do this for an occupation,
B). I remember why I try to shoot ‘supported’ when hunting!
C). More practice is needed ....

At least I was able to ‘call’ the bad shots correctly.

greetings,

my first - and best entry for class 3
