I had to replace the barrel on a .455 Mark VI I bought at blind auction. The original barrel, bulge at cylinder end, carried the same serial number as the rest of the gun which was dated 1918. The replacement barrel, I ordered from Apex, appeared to be thinner and older. Would one think it would be safe to fire the same light auto rim ACP loads suggested for a Mark VI?
