I'm sorry,
Yes, the new stainless model is a .357. I just bought a blued one that I wanted for years and nearly puked when I saw the news on the Marlin Owners forum the next day. Mama said maybe we will need two then ;)

New club member - it's the new 1894CSS, too!

Will post about how it shoots at the first opportunity. Seems to cycle .38s fine.

I'm a happy camper today!

[EDIT: See post #41. It's been a long time comin'. Glad to be official!]

Bought an 1894 Cowboy in .44 Mag and love it. Also bought an 1895 Cowboyin 45-70. Both great guns and fun as hell to reload and shoot. However, I found that every one 1894/95 I looked at in the gun shop (except the ones I bought) had a screwed up rear sight. Looks like the manufacturer was really sloppy. Also, althought my 1895 sight looked fine, I had to move the rear dovetail 1/4" right and the front dovetail 1/16 or so left just to get it centered at 50 yds. .44 mag shot fine.

Thanks Levercaster! I've been wanting one of these for about 10 or 12 years, so it means a lot to me.

Won't get to shoot until Thanksgiving weekend. Can't wait!

Expecting to take possession of one soon. Any critical mods or things to be aware of?

Guess I should join, too. Got an 1894C .357 back in the '80s. Very nice little carbine. Liked it so much that I picked up an 1894S .44 Mag. a few years later at K-Mart. The 94S had a terribly heavy trigger that was just recently replaced by a Wild West trigger...thanks to instructions posted on this site.

Both have Williams aperture sights and fiber-optic front sights. Great little guns. Unfortunately, neither has been shot a lot as I got into muzzleloaders shortly thereafter.
