Marlin lever question

I'm familiar the pre 64 Winchester issue of quality,machining and the like,but does that also stand true for the Marlin lever actions as well?I have a 1944 model 94 Winchester in .32 spl.,and now I have an itch for another and want to be informed

The latest Marlins are every bit as good as the older ones. Some may take issue with the "cross-bolt" safety, but that is just a sign of the times.

What year did the cross bolt saftey come around?

1983.

My 336 from 1975 doesn't have it, my 1894C from 1996 and 39A from 2004 both have it.
