Martial Law in your area - Would you give up your guns?

Anybody who indicates that they would offer resistance is just begging for a no-nonsense visit from the folks in sunglasses and skinny ties.

What do The Blues Brothers have to do with this thread?

Oh, I thought it was the Smiths from the Matrix!
;)

1) JBT’s: Turn over your guns. Me: What guns?

2) JBT’s: We’re going to search your house. Me: Go ahead.

First, mine are locked up in a safe. A serious safe at that. Second, they have to find the safe. It is well hidden. Given time and a very good ability to spot dead air space they could find it. I seriously doubt that they are going to expend the time or effort to do so.

Would I fight them if they did find it? I honestly don’t know. I look at that like I did regarding combat in the Army. I hoped that I would not disgrace my country, my family, or myself. Fortunately, I never had to find out.

If you wouldn't turn them over, and the gov't proceeded to enter your house to search for firearms, like it did in NOLA, would you defend with force?

I could/would not defend against the gov't with force.

So why don't you just take them all down to the police station and turn them in now and save them the trip to your house?

I am not saying what I would do or would not do. I do, however, keep this in mind:

And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if every Security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family? Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling in terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand?

The Organs would very quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and transport and, notwithstanding all of Stalin’s thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt!

Yup, just give 'em up. we'll sue and win in court just like they did in NOLA and get them back just like they did in NOLA.

"The liberties of our country, the freedom of our civil Constitution,
are worth defending at all hazards;
and it is our duty to defend them against all attacks.
We have received them as a fair inheritance from our worthy ancestors:
they purchased them for us with toil and danger and expense of treasure
and blood, and transmitted them to us with care and diligence.
It will bring an everlasting mark of infamy on the present generation,
enlightened as it is, if we should suffer them to be wrested from us
by violence without a struggle, or to be cheated out of them
by the artifices of false and designing men."
