This was an idea i've had for a while, but is there any where, or place that I could send my spent 12 gauge hulls to be reloaded for trap shooting. I shoot hundreds of cases and I'm wondering if it would be worth it (money wise) for the shipping and time cost. I appreciate your opinion!

I am not aware of any.

To do it would require a manufactures license from the ATF, a shipload of liability insurance, and very expensive reloading equipment.

Why don't you just get a high-end MEC reloader and do it yourself??

Or a RCBS, PW, Hornady, or the Rolls Royce - Spolar and add the auto functions.hundreds of hulls or hundreds of flats? If you can afford hundreds of flats every year (about 50-75,000 rounds a year), what are you worrying about?

I have thought of getting the equipment, but with lead prices fluctuating the way they are here in PA I can't tell if I could save anything with those prices plus the equipment. Most of my shells I buy from my local club, (which is at a decent price) but I have been saving the hulls and now looking for a use of them.

Reloading shot shells for me ended when the price of components became higher then shotgun shells.

Why don't you just sell all those hulls to someone already reloading?

And use the proceeds to buy more shells through your gun club??

Very true I also considered that, as it will be my most likely option. I just wanted to see what everyone thought. Probably will create a thread in the near future selling the shells.

If you're reloading target loads to save money on 12 or 20 gauge, there's not much to save right now unless you're using reclaimed shot.

If you're reloading target loads to tailor them to a specific game or gun, you can get some good loads for the price of promo loads.

If you're reloading for an odd gauge like 16 ga, 28 ga, or .410 bore, you can save a few bucks.

Needless to say, I'm no longer reloading 12 gauge or 20 gauge but am collecting hulls just in case I get a good deal on shot. In the mean time, I'm looking for an inexpensive, barely used .410 MEC machine to feed my Mossberg.
