Where can I get match grade 30.06 ammo for my Garand? I would really like to see just HOW my rifle will shoot with quality ammo.

I went to the CMP site and they have LC, that they say is delinked, but is this match grade?

The CMP ammo is good stuff, but as Kevlarman said, it's not match ammo.

What it is, is 150gr M2 Ball ammo made by Lake City. It seems to be late 60's era ammunition. It also has a mild steel jacket.

The best way to get match grade ammo is to load your own. Work up a load with 168 grain Match bullets and IMR4064. IMR4895 is ok, but the 4064 seems a bit better. Mind you, any commercial match grade ammo will do, but none of it will be cheap.

Jmurman, I am with Sunray on this, you should look into handloading for your rifle. Either 168's, 175s, or 180s would probably do well.

BTW, I have been filtered by the local internet jerks...can't get onto the cigar site for now...

I use Federal GM Match for 600 yard matches. I use the Danish surplus for everything else when I want good accuracy.

The Federal is about $1 per round, though. I've bought it online from Natchezss.com.

If you don't "roll your own" and can't get the match stuff from the CMP, try the Federal 168-Gr "Gold Medal Match". My local gunshop that the Federal GMM for around $22/20. Not cheap, but that seems to be what the match shooters around here use.
