I have a Mauser HSc Inter arms import that I'm trying to find a value on. According to the notes I have on this gun it's a "1972 import" 100% NIB with extra mag and test fire target.

According to the Blue Book of gun values website, Inter Arms imports were from "1983 to 1985". Is the 1972 import date a misprint in my notes?

My notes also indicate that the 28th edition of the gun blue book valued this gun at $500.00 "page 1098" If I look back at the 2007 value on the BB website, that doesn't jibe.

Any info as to when inter arms imported these guns, or the current value would be greatly appreciated.

My references indicate the last of the Mauser commercials were made ending in 1981.

The Interarms imported more made in Gambia Italy between 1983-85.

I'd say if your gun says Germany on it, it could be from 1972.

If it says Italy on it, it almost has to be from 1983-85.

I don't have a clue on value.

Sorry, s-a s-s, but I do not know the current value of the described pistol ... however ...

I remember in about 1977 having a choice in a VAB/Norfolk gunshop among NIB Mauser HSc, NIB Walther PPK/s and NIB Ingram .45 (selectfire) ... they were priced at $185/ea (IIRC), with the Ingram requiring additional paperwork & a $200 tax stamp, o'course. I could also get a silencer/barrel extension for the Ingram for an additional $185 (++).

I opted for the Walther. :)

My brother bought a Mauser HSc back around 1976 or 1977. I believe it was imported by Interarms back then.

The HSc was imported under a number of importers post-war.
Mauser made and imported it from 1968 to 1981.
Later versions were made in Italy by Gamba, who made it in the original form and as a double stack magazine model with a radically lengthened grip that ruined it as a "pocket" auto.

A 1972 gun would be a German Mauser made version.
New in the box would be worth "about" $500.

I bought a new Mauser HSc Interarms made in Germany in the 1970's. I loved the style/form of the gun. But it had a heavy double action trigger. Later I sold it to buy another gun. As I recall I paid about $140 for it. I would agree if it is new in the box, around $500 is reasonable.

So Inter Arms DID import the HSc in the 70's? I don't understand why the BB website makes no mention of this. I'm researching current value on over 200 pieces. This is not the first that I've run into very confusing/conflicting info on. I REALLY appreciate all the help, here.

The Blue Book is so massive and contains so much info, it's just going to have some errors.

Interarms did import the Mauser HSc in the late 60's and 70's.
These were the original single stack versions actually made in Germany.
These were available in .380 and .32, and in blue or bright nickel, and there was a "One of 500" numbered version.
