I will give another vote for BE-86. It has been the least position sensitive powder I have tried for mid-range 357 loads, and has been accurate as well. For really light loads, Trailboss.
That works well, the first powder I bought more than a pound of was some 700X in a paper bag from an old timer. Worked great in .38 Spl & .44 Spl..For just punching holes in paper we all use 148gr LWC flush with the top of a .38 Special case and 700X

I have, and I think you would find a good load with a standard pistol primer between 6-7gr of n-340. I've loaded 152-158 LSWC for a 2.75" Ruger security six with good results n-340 in the 6-7gr range should work well for you but my velocities would not be yours.Has anyone test fired the stated cartridge with 6-7 gr of N340?
