This was a somewhat impulsive buy. I really didn't need another AR but the concept seemed cool so I figured I'd give it a shot. There wasn't much information out there on this except for what the company put out so I wanted to do a little write up on it. I am by no means a professional writer or gun snob but I have a ton of experience with the M4 in the Army. I haven't fired this yet, so this is an overview of what I think right now. I should be able to update with a range report later this week.

The rifle as a whole is well put together. All the parts appear to be within spec and there is minimal movement between the upper and lower, comparable to my PSA rifle and less than a number of service rifles I've carried. All my other uppers slide into place on the MGI lower and vice versa, no fitment issues.
The barrel swap feature is simple and locks it firmly in place. Both the included 5.56mm barrel and my 6.8mm slide into position and function properly. Rounds in both calibers chamber and eject smoothly. To remove the barrel you lock the bolt to the rear, unlock and slide the cover piece forward, flip the levers out and slide the barrel assembly out of the receiver. Installation is the reverse, with a bolt change if required.
The swappable magazine well is dovetailed into the lower receiver and held in place by the magazine release and trigger guard. When the upper is attached there is zero play in it. To remove it you release the trigger guard, press the mag release and slide the magwell off the receiver. They make replacements that utilize glock, AK and a couple other magazines, including a .308 upper that fits the standard AR15 lower.
The rail is a carbine length, aluminum free float.
