I just finished up some corresive .30-'06 ammo which came in a spam can on Garand clips (it was corrosive, so I did not shoot in a Garand). After shooting I washed them all to remove chlorides. The guy who sold it to me said it was Koren war stuff, and a friend at the range identified it (by headstamp) as Tiawan made.
It apppeard as if the primers had locktight (red) on them. No problem knocking them out, and when I got ready to swage them, they did not need it.
I am just starting to re-load for rifle (been doing just .45).
So I start to reload this, on about half of them, the primer (Winchester Large rifle primer) just falls out:cuss: .
On another 20%, the primer rattles around in the pocket, and then 30% it appears to be snug in there.
Anyone ever see this before?
Should I just toss this stuff out? Or is it worth it to through at sort the ones that will hold a primer?
I've got about 500 rounds, so I hate to trash them all.:banghead:

If you want some surplus with good brass, buy the Lake City or Greek HXP ammo from the CMP. I prefer the Greek HXP. Pretty accurate ammo for surplus, and the primer pockets do not need to be swaged.

Metric primers. Normally I see this on berdan ammo. (I'm surprised these arn't berdan primed) Probably not worth the time. But if you're hardcore about getting these reloaded, there are a few european/australian outlets that sell primers made to fit into these shells.

Reportedly old western scrounger has them, I heard another company down in .au had them, nioa trading.

I think I would just scrap them though. Find the local brass recycling guy, you might be able to trade them for some good brass.
