Mini-14 Factory 30 rounders?

I was browsing Cheaperthandirt, not really intending to buy anything, just checking prices on ammo and magazines (I ended up buying two boxes of 9mm 147gr GDHP, just because they had them).

But while I was browsing, I saw a 30 round magazine for the Mini-14 listed as a Ruger factory mag.

Is there such a thing? For the longest time I thought the biggest they made was a 20 rounder.

There is. They finally released a factory 30 rounder. I have not used one, so cannot give a review.

Hmm. This, combined with Troy's mini-14 chassis gives me reason to finally give serious thought towards buying a Mini.

Still have a bunch of other weapons I'd be more interested in getting first, but the Mini finally found a place on my list.

Considering how pricey the mags are it sure doesn't cause me to give any serious thought to buying a Mini.

Considering I hold no pretenses towards the Mini being anything more than a range toy, if/when I buy one, I'd probably only get a single 30 rounder for it.

Seems like Ruger is finally trying to become a gun company for gun people nowadays unlike their self imposed 10 round magazine limits, Mini 14 with thin inaccurate barrels, Vaqueros with huge grip frames, etc. In fact they just came out with a piston driven AR! I bet Bill Ruger is spinning in his grave!
