a truly futile endeavor, she visited olegs website and called it 'propoganda'. she considered it lies and half truths much like what the NRA preaches.
in one of her last communicades, she said she didnt want to discuss/debate/argue the gun issue anymore. oh yeah, shes a member of the ACLU. come to think of it, why am i friends with her in the first place????
You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink. Besides, denial is not a river in Egypt.
Every person has a set of beliefs that they have accumulated, and from those set of beliefs, others are added to it much like you would accessorize a house. Add a second story, tack on a patio cover, etc. When a person's beliefs have accumulated enough cruft around it, its very difficult to get them to change it as they would need to work through the discrepancies between their existing beliefs and new ones presented to them.
To some, the easy way is to deny the new facts. They can choose to blissfully ignore new inputs. Or, they can try and resolve the discrepancy, but that would mean they would have to dismantle part of their existing beliefs to incorporate the new one.
If its not a matter of life-death, and not staring you in the face, its easier to dismiss and ignore it.
