Model 97 Gunsmith?

i am looking for someone that can do some gunsmithing work on a friends Winchester 97 that was his granddad's. I sent it to one place and they have had it for two years and at this point we are just working to get it back into the family's hands. Where should we send it when we get it back?

Check in at a SASS cowboy action club. Cowboy shooters use lots of '97s, there is probably a smith near you that does good work.

If you are still looking for a 97 smith take a look at Cowboy Shooters Supply (www.cowboyshooterssupply.com) over in Oaklahoma. Joe is an all round good guy and does a lot of work on 97's.

A few years ago, my FIL sent two Winchester Model 97's to Bob Dunlap's shop. One needed some relatively minor work while the other was pretty much non-functioning. You will have to probably ship it to him. From the website dated 2014, it appears that Ken Brooks is taking over the business.
