moly for sizing lube?

i ran out of sizing lube today, and was wondering if i could just coat the dies, (expander ball) with moly? would this work in place of the sizing lube?? or would this become problem-matic, and end up in a stuck case??
 
I don't know, and I wouldn't care to find out.

Moly has to be one of the messiest things around. It gets on your hands and clothes and is almost impossible to remove.

Anyway, I would be very surprised if you didn't end up with a stuck case because it probably doesn't have a high enough film strength.

In an emergency, I have used STP oil treatment as a sizing lube, but I've not tried it in about 30 years. As I recall, it did work pretty good.

Another product that works well is Anhydrous Lanolin from a druggiest.
It works very well! Even better them some sizing lubes I have used.

And an added benefit is, it keeps your hands really soft, and makes you smell like a wet sheep!

RC is, as usual right on! Molly would be a giant mess to use and would not work. Since it is a dry lube, it would not be able to "flow" to accommodate the taper and radius found in most rifle cases.

All my handgun dies are carbide, but it may work for steel handgun dies for a sliding resizer.
 
Mink oil (the leather treatment) might work. Get a little on your fingers, then roll the cases between your fingers as you pick them up to get them greasy. It won't take much.
 
I’ve been using 2-cycle oil as a lubricant for all cutting and sizing with excellent results!
