So I've used quite a few Monstrum mounts, rails....and other crap. With the question thread about their scopes, and the fact that this just showed up in the mail, I figgured it would be a decent time to do a quick review.
This mount will also be going to @troy fairweather, since I decided to switch to a 30mm scope after ordering the 1" mount. While I realize I could just send it back to Amazon, that feels a little lame since it wasn't even a mistaken order.
He'll have a chance to use it, and i have another in 30mm coming, which I'll also check out.

Any way well just go straight to pictures, and notes.

box, unboxing and parts.
The box is pretty standard fair for Chinese "accessories" It wouldn't prevent something from getting crushed by something larger, but it serves well enough to keep it all together.

mount comes assembled in plain plastic bag, the box also includes a crappy torx wrench and spare screws.

The mount itself is well finished, all the extra are square with no weird mill marks or other stuff. I've seen much poorer finish on some of the older mounts, and some of the other Amazon brands.

It's got 4 integral recoil stops, which are also where the clamp screws thread into. They are well milled, and from what I can see thru the bottom of a piece of pic rail, all make contact cleanly.

I hit the thing with my square edge and everything on the mount itself was in line, but I forgot to take pictures of that. By the time I remembered I'd already gotten it mounted up in my vice to see how level the surfaces were.

Leveled the piece of rail I was using...which SEEMS pretty flimsy when off the gun, but actually flexed and returned pretty well. IMG_20200212_195054.jpg IMG_20200212_195130.jpg

You'll notice I was a little off on the cross level, but it still gives a decent reference.

here's the mounts length wise cant.

and finally weight.

Ok so for the most part it's pretty close, to as perfect as I can check with a little bubble level.
The side cant is about what I've come to expect from these cheap mounts.
Again my the rail is a little off level also, which is magnified since the mounts flat surfaces are 1/2-1" above that. This is often caused by the clamp bottoming out on the flat of the mount and lifting the raill up on the clamp side, instead of pulling it down. I've fixed it with shims, and grinding off some of the upper clamp edge before, and I've also just ignored it

For a short range blasting gun, that much of a tilt won't make any difference.
On a longer range precision rifle, especially if first round hits matter, your probably using better rings ANYWAY.
The 30mm when it comes in (f it's at least as good as this one) will be going on a BCA 6.5grendel upper, topped with Bushnell Nitro sfp scope. Well see how it all plays together then.

I also bought one of those about a year or so ago when I was putting together my ar on the cheap. I've been impressed so far. Both it and my cheapie tasco world class have held zero.

I am kinda shopping for a 450 bushmaster upper and I would use the mount again!

I think it looks good, there are mounts twice the price that are similar or even not as nice. If there is some cant that's ok because the scope will be level.

I will check and see how the rings clamp and how evenly they clamp. I can try it on my 308 to see if anything happens

I would like if they made a riser with the A2 sight built in.

I have two of the Monstrum one-piece mounts, both for scopes with one inch tubes. One has the rectangular recoil stops and the other has more conventional rounded machine screws.

Neither has given me any trouble whatsoever.

Got the 30mm rings in, and ill have that 1" out to you tomorrow @troy fairweather

30 ended up with pretty much same results from checks as the 1"

Mounted my Athlon Midas BTR in it, while attached to the loose piece of pic rail. I then moved it over to my .350s flat top, and checked to see how level it would be when installed on a completely new rail.
