With the pistol cal revolvers that use moon clips. How do you carry a reload? Just put the loaded moon clip in your pocket? Are they durable enough for this and how about the exposed primers? Just wondering.

Although I don't carry it I do own a 3" M625-4. If I were to carry it, I would either put a couple of moonclips in a pocket, or in a speedloader case on my belt, or shoulder harness, if I was using that type of holster.
Exposed primers are not much of an issue. It takes quite a bit of direct force to dent even soft primers. Although I would not have anything else in my pocket if I carried ammo in it

Four set of full moons fit nicely in a standard double speedloader case. One or two can be carried in a pocket. Someone has a 50 caliber ammo case full of them so it depends on the situation as to how they can be carried. I usually opt for a speedloader case, either single or double.

45 ACP, 10mm, and 9mm NATO rounds are the only ones using full or half moon clips(3 rounds) in revolvers. The only 9mm revolver shooting the 9mm load was one made several years ago by Ruger and is now discontinued. If my memory serves mne correctly, Ruger received a large order for 9mm revolvers from a European country (France?) and also offered them to the public for a few years. See them on the used gun market every once in a while.

That's not true look at s&w's website, they at least make a 642 in 38 special with moon clips

The S&W 940 is a Centennial J frame that shoots 9mm with 5 shot moonclips. Great gun just a bit heavy. Some tended to have hard extraction, a bit of polishing in the chamber normally solved the issue. I have a 940 cylinder installed in a 642, making a 942. It would be a great gun if S&W started making one.

Ruger made three different 9mm revolvers that use moonclips.
S&W has made revolvers in .45acp, 10mm, .40S&W, 9mm, .38 Super, .357mag, and .38spl that use moonclips.
Taurus has made revolvers in 9mm and .45acp and just introduced one in .40S&W, that use moonclips although their factory "Stellar Clips" are trash.

Supposedly they're going to offer the new BodyGuard revolver in 9mm this fall. Check out my thread on the S&W forum - http://smith-wessonforum.com/s-w-re...g-believe-what-s-w-rep-told-me-yesterday.html

I've got a 1917 S&W revolver & it uses the moonclips, I just carry a reload in my pocket with no problem, btw this pistol works great with the 3rnd moonclips also.

I have a 1917 Colt same thing...I reamed the cylinders out to accept 308 brass made into a shot shell...
Load one 3rnd, with 45s other with shot shell:D Good one in the field...
When in the country had it with me all the time, killed many a rattler with it:)

I use a plastic bill bottle that my vet uses to carry 2 9mm moon clips for my Ruger 9mm SP101.
