I took my Mossberg 500 to the range today. I had the 18.5" cylinder bore barrel on it. I will definitely be sticking with my reloaded 3" 000 buckshot load for the 500 and the Shockwave. It's hard to see in the photos but the pellets did penetrate the thick rubber target backer at all ranges.
3" PDX1 1 shot at 7 yards
3" 000 buckshot 1 shot at 7 yards
The next tow photos are at 15 yards. First is 1 shot and the second is 5 shots.
And since the 500 has a stock on it I decided to see how my 3" reloads did at 25 yards. 7 pellets were inside the 8" target with another 1 still on the sticker. and 4 just outside the stick on target. I had 3 pellets that I couldn't tell where they hit since the paper target had holes in it all ready.
