I've been searching for an older bolt action 22 and found this Mossberg. It's in decent shape. Probably manufactured in the mid 60s. Nice trigger, which is adjustable. The rear peep sight should be a Lyman, I think, but its a Mossberg. I almost like the Charles Daly scope. First shots at 25yards with CCI SV were dead on so I tried the tack driver target and then shot the sighting target at 50yards. Sitting at a bench shooting off my elbows I am pretty impressed already. When it warms up a bit I'll give it a try off of proper bags.

You will have a lot of fun with that gun,It is in nice condition.I have a 144lsb looks very much the same .Numrich has parts for them if needed.I got an assortment of different front sight inserts for mine from them.

Nice one. The locking lug is the bolt handle. This area may wear after many rounds, affecting headspace, causing misfires. I try to push the bolt fully forward before locking it down. Some Break Free CLP with teflon helps cut wear in this area. full.jpg

Mine has the Lyman sights with front inserts. Bulk ammo, of "a good lot" can do 1/2" @ 50 yards with the 12x scope.

Thanks for the tip. This one came to me well lubed with a shiny bore and enough dust in the front of the scope to know it sat in a safe for quite a while.
