Mossberg 500 special 12 gauge pump

HELP!! Need opinions/advice.
I have a chance to buy what's described as a "LIKE NEW" Mossberg 500 SPECIAL 12 gauge pump SG. It has the heat shield and a sling. This model has the "wooden furniture" which I prefer over the black synthetic. Kind of resembles a 1300 Defender from the pics I've seen.
It's mine for $300.00, should I take it?

Mossberg 500's come in a wide variety. The term Special Purpose generaly refering to somewhat non-hunting versions.

They are good guns and worth the $300 mentioned but the price is not a bargin. Just a fair price.

I have a 12ga Mossburg 500 that I bought new for ~$350.00 w/ two barrels and a pistol grip buttstock option. I just bought a "like new" Winchester 1300 20Ga for my wife w/ a ~24" bbl and full set of chokes for under $250.00.

Big5 had Mossberg 500 on sale for 289.00 with two barrels. Like was mentioned, 300 is a fair price, not exceptional. Here in California we would also have to pay 25 dollars DROS fee plus tax.

I got mine for 228 out the door at Walmart. You may want to look there
