Hey guys I am having some issues trying to find a foregrip for my Mossberg Maverick 88 20ga. I am looking for the pistolgrip type foregrip. Any suggestions?
On my Mav 88, the foregrip is molded to the action rails, making it impossible to swap out the foregrip like a Moss 500. I ended up getting Moss500 action rails and fore grip for my Mav 88. You may want to do the same.
That said, ATI has pistol grip Mossberg foregrips. A few other companies too, who escape me at the moment.
If you purchase a Mossberg 500 action slide assembly & nut- it will replace the Mav88 style foregrip & action bar unit. Then you can use whatever Moss M500 foregrip you want. It's easy to swap out and pictures are in my Mini-Me thread stickied in here. I suggest Havlin Sales for parts.
Just for info- Mossberg also made M500's recently with the Mav 88 style pinned foregrip. Probably cheaper to make them that way for the plastic-stocked defense models.
Just make sure you order the right length action tube for the forearm you want to use.
6 3/4" action tube is used for most, if not all, of the vertical grip forends now. HTH
I swapped the action rails with a Mossy 500, then swapped the wood fore grip with a tri rail. That gives a lot of option, as thralldad mentioned. Vert grip, light, laser, all sorts of other useless stuff to hang from a shotgun.
I'll throw my Streamlight TLR-1 on it from time to time.
