Mossberg Chainsaw....I hope Dave M. is sitting down...

We could always trade chuck schumer, maybe make a "chainsaw grips" illegal in ny and in return we can have are "evil" flash suppressors, adjustable collapsing stocks and 30 round mags back.

Well hip shooting is about the only way to shoot a PGO, so there's *some* logic to it.
The *RIGHT* way to shoot a PGO shotgun (if such must be done for some obscure reason) involves tucking the strong hand and butt up against your pectoral muscle and using body index to point shoot.

While some folks would still call that shooting "from the hip" the gun isn't actually anywhere near down by your hips.

With the gun that high, this device would make your support-hand hold almost more of a detriment than a help.

The only thing this device can do is remove the last shreds of practical usefulness a PGO might have.

...

 But gee, it sure may make it easier to handle once you've got that BAYONET mounted!!1!1! Then the whole weed-wacker grip makes more sense, especially if you really will use it to clear brush.

...

Of course, we all may understand that 75% of gun gear marketing is designed to appeal to the video-game/action movie fan crowd, but this seems to take things to a whole 'nother level. Like designing a gun/accessory in the hope that it will be so radicool that the next big movie/game will be written around it -- thus creating it's own consumer demand. But maybe this time it will backfire. As this guy proves: http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/...+(The+Firearm+Blog)&utm_content=Google+Reader -- NOBODY looks "KEWL" shooting this thing.

OK, was it really designed for LE door breaching applications....

or some scifi or zombie movie?

(The handle does put you about on the pointing/aiming level of the typical doorlock.)

Nope. If you watch a trained breecher working, they point the gun at a sharp angle down through the lock mechanism so the shot takes out the works and heads toward the floor on the other side so it doesn't endanger anyone on the other side of the door.

This would be worse than useless for that task.

All they're going for here is a firing stance similar to the Space-Marines' big guns in Aliens. Pure sci-fi drivel.

It really is embarrassing to see the firearms world even entertain such pointless, ridiculous things. When we need to be showing the world how reasonable and responsible we are, this product is a detriment.

If you have ever used a chainsaw (the real one) you will understand that your strong hand holds the "pistol grip" and your weak hand holds the "bar". The purpose of the bar is to apply a brake on the blade if you hit a knot and the saw jumps back at you. On
a shotgun, that makes no sense.
Not for me, but if you want one,,,,,,,,,,have at it.

Like this? I've never actually shot a shotgun in PGO setup (other than a 20 ga Italian kneecapper), but it's good to know.

Heee heee! Yes, indeed! :)

... Now, rotate that support hand up on top grasping this new "D" handle and try to imagine doing something useful with that PGO-stick.
