I'm moving to the Leavenworth KS area soon and hope to find a good gun club with ranges to 100 yards and more. Already familiar with Parma Woods and Pigeon Hill (and like them) but would really like to find a range over 100 yards. Would greatly appreciate any feedback from fellow High Roaders.
Thanks,

Kcace

Welcome to the "free state". There are a couple clubs that I can think of but they are both private, members only clubs.
Closest is the Tri County gun club down by Linwood and then there's the Capital City club out on the west side of Topeka.
I'm no help cause I don't belong to either one. Sorry...

The one at Hillsdale Lake State Park is my favorite and it has a 200-yard range. Looks like its about an hour's drive from Lvnworth. Welcome to Kansas.

Huh, I didn't know there was a public range at Hillsdale. o_O
Guess ya really do learn something new every day.
It's a really nice range. There is a club you can join or just pay $10 and shoot all day. If you don't have a KDWP park permit on your vehicle that's an extra $5.

Thanks, ka2! looks like it's about an hours drive but I'll look into it. Will also check out the clubs...thanks, Shanghai. REALLY looking forward to the public ranges...nothing near where I'm at in NW Ohio, though there has been a good club in the Toledo area I've been a member of for a while.
Will really miss the close drive to the CMP at Camp Perry. Found a few great garands there, some nice pellet rifles for my grandsons (someday), and good prices on ammo, etc. I would strongly encourage everyone to visit the CMP in Ohio or Georgia if you get the chance. Folks there were very helpful to me and it was a great experience to search the racks for just the right one.
Again..thanks for the info on ranges and clubs in KS.

Cap city west of Topeka has a 300 yard range. I don't belong now but it was about $125 per year a few years back.

Thanks, Chuck R. I'll look into Mill Creek. I've been on post many times from having a son in law that was on post until recently, but I'm civilian so that won't work out. Deeply appreciate the offer though. Really looking forward to being in the area. thanks again,
