Take the Guns in National Parks poll

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/25630796/

CUT & PASTE the link.

The poll is in the LINK embedded in the story at
"Where do you stand on guns in parks"

The "poll" is worded so that there are three answers on one side and one on the other. That makes it appear the "other side" (with 38%) is the most popular view.

Hey MSNBC, nice way to have one "NO" category then break the "Yes" answers up 3 ways so the results don't look so impressive. :cuss:

That was my first thought when I looked at the poll too, Henry. Hopefully people looking at the poll will be able to see thru that ploy as quickly as we did. Fat chance!

But it's good to see that even on the uber-anti MSNBC, no matter how they word the poll, we're still coming out ahead.

Thanks for the link. Come on guys we gotta hit this poll.

From the front page of the article: 080710-nationalParkGun-hmed-547p.hmedium.jpg

Who needs a left index finger?

1. All guns are always loaded (until you establish whether they are or not).
2. Never let the muzzle cover anything you are not willing to destroy. Keep your gun pointed in a safe direction at all times: on the range, at home, loading, or unloading.
3. Keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on the target (and you are ready to shoot).
4. Be sure of your target. Know what it is, what is in line with it and what is behind it. Never shoot at anything that you haven't positively identified.

That's what one should expect from MSNBC.

State laws should apply. If somebody has a permit to carry, they should be allowed to carry. I don't get the other pro-gun answers. Why should it be any different in a national park than it is in the grocery store?

Because a NATIONAL park is Federal Property and they have "jurisdiction" their. Allowing the FEDERAL government to infringe on your rights under the SECOND AMENDMENT to the US Constitution is unconscionable.

There are too many states (NY,NJ, NC, CA, MI et al) who already infringe heavily in an area where they do not belong. The states can not restrict Free Speech, Voting rights or Congressional pay why should the second amendment be different?

State Laws should not apply. Just permit open and Concealed Carry in national parks.

They really searched the photo archives to find the most evil looking pictures of both Kempthorne and Crapo.

Does anyone have any additional background info about this. I would really like to get involved since it looks like we still have until Aug 8th to be heard. For you guys who have been following this form the beginning: How can I help?

Thanks, Dan
